Facade Facade

During this one week workshop you have been chosen to imagine a new concept store for
a new speculative shopping street. The facade of a building is often the most important as- pect from a design standpoint, as it sets the tone for the rest of the building and its identity. At the same time a facade can also imply a false appearance.
This workshop will be a fun ride to research and investigate the speculative future of this format and diverse ways of working with spatial graphic design. At the end of the workshop you will have discovered your own product and developed a concept and visual identity around it.
Each student will be given the same amount of space to present their store in the form of a exciting/inspiring/triggering or Interactive facade in scale (X)

Day 1 Introduction
- Exercise/excursion to discover a single product/item for the concept store of each student. - Briefing
- Working out their store concept
- Making first identity elements

Day 2 Making first identity elements
Experimental exercise: to make various intuitive spatial prototypes samples out of the iden- tity elements

Days 3-4 Making a final plan and executing it
Using the identity, the concept and findings to make an exciting/inspiring/triggering or interactive facade for their own speculative concept store.

Day 5 Finalisation
Documentation & Presentation
The result will be presented during the festive opening ceremony of the new speculative shopping street (taking place at the atrium next to class). All individual scale models to- gether will form the new speculative shopping street.
