Description

This lecture was introduced to explain the origin of details of pattern and sewing techniques .It is important to understand why a pocket is placed on a particular position, why a slit   has a certain length etc.

The students get technical information, and they can apply some knowledge directly into practice when they invent new pockets, collars, sleeves etc during these days.

In this lecture we also try to point out the quality of the making, and we want to motivate the students to think about the function of details in garments nowadays and in future life.

Design in a functional contxt I (WS 2022)

In this lecture we will analyse  the function of a garment by investigating shirts

Design in a functional context II and III (WS 2022)

In this lecture we will esteblish the link between the function and the design of pockets.

After a short introduction about function and design, we will have interwies in groups. to find out which functions are most important for the wearer. ( special focus lies on pockets)

In the next step we will investigate various pockets of clothes which you bring along or which are provided from the tutors.

The aim of the lecture is to apply the gained knowledge to the collection of this year.
