2022W, scientific seminar (SEW), 4.0 ECTS, 2.0 semester hours, course number S04474
Economics and Politics - Theory
Emphasis Social Sciences and Research
In this course we will explore the thinking and concepts of Social Science: What are the conditions, the do’s, don’ts, and doings of Social Science as cross disciplinary research? At first the basics and framework of different approaches and methodologies are in the focus of the course. Reading as a fundamental competence within the sciences will be examined and practiced.
Then basic methods like interviews, group discussions or observations will be presented, discussed and practiced.
During the course practice and interaction is central. Researching the social always focuses on discourse and so will the course. So, students are welcome to bring their questions and research interests with them.
Preview for the summer semester:
The seminar will take place as a cooperation in form of a research lab together with another university. We will work together in cross disciplinary teams and thus experience the development and practice within a research project within different disciplines.
