Within this Lecture we will dive together deeper into the meaning of “Academic working”.
Which skills do you have to develop to cope with the affordances of Academia? How to foster a successful “academic working behaviour” that satisfies the requirements to different academic disciplines and sciences you will come along within this study program?

Throughout our 7 Sessions we will check out different survey- focusses, reading-techniques and writing strategies, and try them out for different academic purposes and text types.

Examination Modalities

The final grade will consist of at least 14 tasks to be completed:

About one half of the tasks (7) will be done throughout interactive methods "in class", the other assignments  (7+) should be completed between the lectures.

To finish this lecture successfully, grade B, you must complete at least 4 "in class tasks" and 5 assignments.

To achieve grade A, you should take part successfully in 6 "in class tasks" and complete 7 assignments in time.

Comments

Students from other departments or universities will be given a place on the course subject to room capacities.

This lecture will give a good starting point for the Lecture "Introduction to Academic writing" in the summer term.
