This course teaches the artistic and technical fundamentals of digital filmmaking, with an emphasis on nonlinear video editing. 

Using various examples from film and media art, dramaturgy, rhythm, pacing and montage techniques will be analyzed, and the various components of video production (frame rate, frame resolution, video formats, compression, best practice workflow,...) will be discussed.

In addition to theoretical immersion in image design techniques, participants will also receive advice and support in planning and realizing their own documentary, narrative or experimental video works with real or animated elements.

Regular attendance, realisation of a film project
