Introduction to Artistic Strategies - Practice

Stephanie Misa
Arts and Society, Artistic Strategies
2022W, Projektarbeit (PA), 2.0 ECTS, 1.0 semester hours, course number S04367

Description

Collaborative Constellations focuses on practices that emphasize co-creation, unlearning, interdependency, care and empathy as effective strategies of political and artistic resistance— and resilience. The course looks at different self-organized initiatives, collaborative art practices and will engage in activities that build towards communal teaching and learning as a decolonial approach, focusing on the MUMOK exhibition ‘Collaborations’ as an entry-point into artistic practices that visualize collectivity.

Collaborative Constellations questions the myth of the “individual” through a peer-to-peer learning environment that clarifies notions of collectivity through practice, and will be co-produced and co-lead by students and invited guests.  A group project will be developed in the class.
