Institute of Fine Arts and Media Art, Site Specific Art
2022W, Vorlesung und Übungen (VU), 2.0 ECTS, 2.0 semester hours, course number S04354

Description

Starting from Pulp ́s song Common People we will discuss forms of classism at universities, the artworld, and the everyday. We will structure the seminar in a historical overview of classism embedded in cultural discourse of the last century, ranging from Russian Constructivism to bel hooks, from Italian Neorealism to Britpop. Then we will define possibilities to make artwork in relation to classism and its intersectionality, ending up in a public presentation. Students with personal experience in classism more than welcome!
