Zukunftsmodelle der Vergangenheit | Future Models of the Past

Art Sciences and Art Education, Expanded Museum Studies
2022W, Vorlesungen (VO), 2.0 ECTS, 2.0 semester hours, course number S04294

Description

The future has been here before! What did future models for museums and art institutions look like in the past? Have the models, plans and ideas been redeemed, have they been discarded or do they still represent a (better) future that is considered an achievable - or unachievable - ideal?

The study primarily examines future models of the 20th and 21st centuries with occasional excursions into an 'older' past. Present visions of the future are constant companions.

Examination Modalities

Attendance (min 80%) and submission of a short essay at the end of semester.
