Description

Given the massive losses of cultural heritage worldwide, due to increased numbers of natural disasters, changed dimensions in recent armed conflicts, ideological, nationalist and religious fanaticism, and the exploitation of deliberate demolition of cultural heritage, cultural property protection gains public attention.

The course discusses foundations, development and significance of cultural property protection, its legal framework and instruments. The focus is set on emergency planning and disaster preparation.
