Description

Diving through the equipment pool

In today's art production a wide variety of technical equipment, materials and programs are used.  In the meantime, there is also a multitude of analog or digital helpers that can assist in the (media) artistic work and especially in its presentation. Media- and software-supported installations require, apart from the content-related and theoretical components, a high degree of reliability and functionality, so that they function properly over a longer period of time.

In the seminar, various tools and programs (from the TransArts equipment pool) for media-supported art production will be presented, discussed and tried out. These include flatscreens, CRT monitors, beamers, screens, VR glasses, video distributors, audio distributors, slide projectors, speakers, media players, Raspberry Pi, Arduinos, audio mixers/light mixers, spotlights, microphones, cameras, motion detectors, and various cabling and mounting options.

Software-wise, it's about programs for simple audio and video editing, as well as more complex software for mapping, masking and video tracking (Isadora). -> https://troikatronix.com/

The seminar will first give an overview of the different possibilities through technology, as well as further and more in-depth information if needed.

Participants are invited to present and discuss their own work or concepts.

Excursions are planned as part of the seminar:

- Visit to a recording of the TV show "Willkommen Österreich" at Studio Marx.

- Visit of the Rabenhof Theater, look behind the scenes and at the media technology
