Description
In this lecture students should develop an understanding for the high end production of garments and learn the required techniques.
Technical tests concerning the shirt are being made for the various processes. Differences in quality are being examined.
Further on, the use of the sewing machinery as plain sewer, overlock, etc. will be explained.
Students are practicing technical terms to communicate within an effective manner with artisans.
Personal presence is precondition for a positive certificate. An excuse via e-Mail is required if you cannot take part.
Exercises and homework have to be delivered by the agreed date.
A portfolio with technical details and notes are to be made and presented at the end of the term
At the end of the term students have to take a technical exam.
Participating on the 11th of October is compulsory.
The attendance of this lecture is obligatory for applying for "Sewing techniques advanced" in the second stage of studies.

cutters’s shears (21 - 25 cm blade), hand shears, steel pins, needles, thimble, tracing paper, tracing wheel, tailor’s chalk, tape measure, large set-square/ triangle (30 cm), french curve
