In this course we furthermore will explore Social Research: The second semester continues with different additional methods and then sets an emphasis on analysis. Different approaches – reductive to interpretative ones - will be introduced, their implementation reflected and practiced. Students will develop research projects – either in small groups or on their own – and practical insight into applying methods and methodologies.

During the course practice and interaction is central. Researching the social always focuses on discourse and so will the course. So, students are welcome to bring their questions and research interests with them.

- Contribution to the discussions

- No absence without prior excuse, 80 % attendance

- tasks and practices related to the contents of the lecture – for example analysing a text or image, getting started with a grounded theory project a.s.o.

- Steps of a research project (designing the process resp. instruments and collecting data, analysing, and presenting). Final discussions will take place at the last meeting.
