The seminar is focused on transport and urban planning. The lectures cover basics of transport planning and policy, the interaction of mobility and spatial structure, environmental aspects of transport, traffic concepts in practice, bottom-up strategies and citizens involvement as well as positive examples of sustainable transport and urban planning. In a guest lecture, a practitioner will share his perspective on interdisciplinary planning of climate sensitive street design combining transport planning, landscape design and microclimate simulations.

Students can choose a topic to elaborate in a group work. This work will be presented and discussed in the final session and serves as the basis for grading. The course “Transport Planning and Transport Policies” that was held in the fall semester is a good basis but not mandatory for students to be able to follow the course.

Leistungsnachweis am Ende des Semesters:

Ausarbeitung eines relevanten Themas (Auswahl aus vorgegebenen Themen) und Präsentation in der letzten LVA-Einheit.

Studierende anderer Fachbereiche oder Universitäten erhalten einen Studienplatz nach Maßgabe der Raumkapazitäten.
