2022S, wissenschaftliches Seminar (SEW), 4.0 ECTS, 2.0 SemStd., LV-Nr. S03993
European integration is closely related to possibilities and bareers to (intra-european and global) movement. On the one hand, the four freedoms of movement (of goods, services, persons, and capital) have formed the core principles of European integration since the first Treaties. On the other one, the structure and rules of the European Union play a paramount and ambiguous role for global mobility.
The seminar will describe, analyze and discuss the impact of European integration on freedom of movement throughout its history as well as discuss different conceptualizations of European integration.
In the Summer Semester 2022 we shall focus on inclusions and exclusions due to European integration by discussing the following themes:
All students have to develop a specific theme fitting into the overall theme of the course. This theme will be elaborated in writing and orally presented.
Within the seminar we shall develop a think tank on migration to develop solutions for better migration and asylum policies and relations with countries of origin. Contributions to this think tank can form the contribution of students (or a part of it.)
