2022S, artistic Seminar (SEK), 1.0 ECTS, 1.0 semester hours, course number S03699

Description

Performative Virtual Environments

This Lecture is associated with the Angewandte Performance Lab.

The seminar is practical and will focus on how to create virtual environments that can respond to body movements in real time.

We will create a "performative" 3D space (visuals and sounds) that can be influenced in real time. We will explore different interactive technologies that allow to get real time data from body movements with computer vision.

We’ll use MAX (https://cycling74.com) and a 3D game engine, participants will get a small library of modules, created ad hoc for the seminar, in order to spend less time programming and more time experimenting.

Students can register on the BASE

Participants will be given access to the cloud folder of the seminar (URL via email), where they will be able to download all materials and media of the course.
