2022S, artistic Seminar (SEK), 1.0 ECTS, 1.0 semester hours, course number S03195
The attack on people and infrastructure in Ukraine raises questions about the possibilities of expression in the field of culture. What is the relationship between art and the so-called political? On the one hand, there is the military and police control of the visual. On the other hand, art tries to establish counter-positions. How can it develop critical narrative forms without using those images of horror that impose themselves on us from the war?
What role do images transported by the media play? What concepts come from art? What happened in the past? What is the connection between data warfare and armed conflict? One further question is: in which context of art do methods of forensics come into play?
Attendance, participation, development of own ideas. Answering three general, content-related questions in writing at the end. This is the basis for the grade.
The aim is to learn to ask questions about the connection between art and politics and to get to know some central developments.
