Description:
The seminar deals with possibilities of translation and visualisation of perceptual processes. We focus on the development of very specific dynamic forms of notation of spaces in the form of artistic field research. Based on Gansterer's current research project on "Contingent Agencies", central methods and experimental approaches of artistic research will be taught in theory and practice. The seminar will take place within the framework of an excursion lasting several days (Whitsun 2022). In the course of walking and being on the way through diverse spaces and landscapes, we will observe the interactions of perception between the so-called outside and inside. Through transformative transitions from the idea to the sign, from the word to the image, from the trace to the figure, from the material to the action, strategies of drawing on and writing in the spatial and the physical will be invented and experienced individually and collectively. The aim is to increase awareness of the qualitative characteristics of being in motion and to explore the possibility of inherent and idiosyncratic choreographies of sense-making in order to performatively expand the concept of form and material.
