Praxismodul I - Graphic Design I - Communication and Project Management "From briefing to press proof": Essential structures and processes in graphic design explained using the creation of a simple flyer as an example. We will get to know the most important vocabulary of the respective professional jargons in order to gain confidence in dealing with the different project participants.
Praxismodul II - Graphic Design II - Basics, Design and Workflow "Type, Typesetting and Image": Basic concepts of graphic design explained using the creation of a four-page folder as an example. We will look at the details of an integrated workflow in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop and push the example to print or PDF output readiness.
In case of face-to-face teaching: Compulsory attendance as a basis for evaluation. The examination takes place during the workshop in the form of a time-limited examination task.
In case of distance learning: Participation in mandatory Zoom meetings. Completion of relevant examination tasks.
The Praxismodule are expected to be held in face-to-face mode in SS2022. Should this change, the adjustment of the participation modalities will be communicated here at this location.
The Praxismodule I, II, III and IV can be combined freely. Completion of at least two of the four modules per semester is required for the issuance of a certificate (1.0 SemStd.). Completion of all four modules in a semester will earn credit for 2.0 SemStd. as usual.
Basic knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is required. Start times, on time. In principle, co-occupants may also participate in the workshop. The workshop will be held in German. Selective support in English where necessary.
