Angewandte Mathematik

Georg Glaeser
Art and Technology, Geometry
2021W, Vorlesungen (VO), 2.0 ECTS, 2.0 semester hours, course number S60463

This lecture is different from standard lectures about mathematics.

Its aim is primarily to solidify A-level mathematical knowledge and to be able to put theory into practice. For this reason, it will not include the typical definition - theorem - proof strategy.

The book "Math Tools -- 500+ Applications in Science and Arts" (German version: "Der mathematische Werkzeugkasten -- Anwendungen in Kunst, Natur und Technik") offers accompanying material for the lecture. The introduction (in German) is available at

If it is going to be necessary to switch to distance learning during the semester, this course will be continued virtually. More information will be provided in due time.

Examination Modalities

Written and oral exam at the end of term.

If a switch to distance learning will become necessary during the semester, further information on the exam will be provided by the lecturer in time.

The lecture will be held in English.

At this point in time, the lecture will likely be held in Seminarraum 7 (former HS 2), OKP Ferstel-Trakt, 1st floor. As soon as there is more information available concerning the Covid-management for this semester, you will receive updates via this platform.
