On the basis of selected visual sources and realia, a cultural history of clothing as part of world and everyday culture is developed. The following aspects are of particular interest and form focal points:

- Relationship between (three-dimensional) body and clothing (two- or three-dimensional)

- Basic knowledge of the history of fashion for both sexes

 - Conveying the image of the world and the human being of the time periods that have shaped silhouettes (historical time window)

- Rituals and performance staging,- gestures, dress language, and accessories.

- Textile history: Economic developments and technical inventions

 - Sensitisation of the ability to distinguish between fashionable, ethnic and functional clothing

- History of economic and distribution processes
