This blocked class investigates the cross-cutting issues of care and precariousness from a theoretical and artistic angle. In the first part of the class we will dive into different notions of (self)-care, care work and its contexts and conditions in todays society in order to develop a more systemic view on the topic. Starting with conceptions from art theory, art practices and social sciences, we will also look into approaches from economics. The combination of the different perspectives will be linked to the current research of the universities within UniNEtz dealing with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1, 5, 8 and 10 to better understand and express the interlinkages between the goals and to highlight the different dimensions of complex social issues. 

The class will be held in a co-teaching format together with Jenni Tischer.

 A workshop for precarious cultural workers to reflect, reorganize, rejuvinate, have a laugh about the paradoxes in the field and map out ways to work better and care for ourselves in the present and the future.

80% attendance, active participation in group work and discussions. Physical participation in the workshop at Angewandte Festival (aligned to the covid-strategy of Angewandte). Thought paper (5 pages) connected to the content of the class
