The lecture course investigates a selection of key episodes of the history of Western architecture that influenced architectural production until today. The most important innovation steps in their development are presented. The topics range from the "first house" via the consequences of the Copernican Revolution to the digital age.

Required: Identification and contextualization of c. 5 image examples from the lecture course plus discussion of a text selected by you from the course material on www.architekturgeschichte.at or from any other source in topical connection with the course content. All images and texts from the course are available for viewing (not for download) on www.architekturgeschichte.at.
The pass word and the Zoom invitation will be conveyed to participants in the lecture course and via Email upon registration to the course on the BASE. Application for the oral exam from one week before exam date via Email. There are three exam dates in each semester, exams about lecture courses from the past three semesters (except summer 2020) can be taken at each date.
Preliminary exam dates in winter term 2020/21: 18 March, 2 p.m.; 22 April, 2 p.m. and 10 June 21, 12 noon.
