Forensic investigations are based on the analysis of storage media to reconstruct movement sequences and communication flows. This includes the use of deleted, damaged or overwritten files. Often this is connected with the question of who has the power of interpretation over the data. On what preliminary decisions are they evaluated and interpreted.
What is established as a common narrative in the genre of crime fiction also has its sociopolitical dimension, as shown by the investigations of riots in the course of the rights-dominated demonstration in Chemnitz, Germany, in August 2018.
