WASTELAND
In an ever more connected world—with every physical and virtual corner of the globe seemingly known and possibly accessible—wastelands occupy a special place in the game of focussed productivity and peripheral distraction. The course investigates the spatiality of wastelands, drawing special attention on its diverse connotations and contradictory relations to living spaces. By means of individual narrations, we will adopt all sorts of possible and—maybe impossible—vantage points to explore relations between the built and natural environment, demonstrated by actual situations the world currently produces. Methodological framework is the strategic potential of descriptive models and speculative thinking.
Prüfungsmodalitäten
Frequent and active participation.
Presentation, investigation of a sub-topic.
Documented visual/textual elaboration with negotiable focus, related to individual interest and the subject of the course.
Anmerkungen
In accordance with the given situation of distant teaching and learning, the course is held in various online formats, facilitating as much as possible the planned methodologies and didactics. Formats include: zoom sessions; group dissussion in writing - shared google docs, and possibly others that will evolve during the semester.
