Winter semester: “Awesome”

How do industrial modes of production relate to art production? What are the narrations that can be found in artistic as well as in economic strategies? From an analysis of the context, the materiality and the strategies behind the production of the chosen examples each student will develop a strategy / a work. Results will be presented in the setting of a group exhibition at the end of the winter term.

Summer semester: “Keep on improving!”

As a continuation of our reflections, in the summer semester, we will deal with the concepts of a workspace by creating a working environment/studio space/laboratory in the CDS rooms. More specifically, we will be engaged in the development of a display and discuss different notions behind the term „presentation". We will continue our discussion on value/work as an artistic strategy. Still, thematically, we will base our work more on the future scenarios outlined in CDC and look for options of implementing artistic strategies in those.

• No absence without prior excuse!
• Presentation of the final results!
• Examinations for the course "All the stories money just can't buy" for CDS students will be held as part of the finals of the CDC course on 10 or 12 June 2020. Topic, problem definition and approach will be developed within the course "All the stories money just can't buy" and must be independently visible in the presentation.

Students from other faculties or universities will be given a place on the course subject to room capacities.
