2020S, artistic Seminar (SEK), 2.0 ECTS, 2.0 semester hours, course number S02747

In line with the measures and changes made regarding alternate.mode at our university the seminar will be held by appointment with the supervisor in ZOOM:

From the digital networks, computer games as vehicles for action in crisis situations provoke a new concept of play in the real world. As a counterweight to wargames, forms of non-violent resistance to political issues are discussed in the artgames that have been appearing since about 2000. These are continued in the current format of newsgames. This new genre should become the starting point for our own analyses and concept development. As hybrid forms of play between film, platform and action, this genre allows platforms equipped with real-world documentaries and instructions for action, such as Everyday Rebellion (2013), to intervene in current political situations in playful arrangements. ... by conveying activist rules of the game for participation in non-violent resistance. The strategies conveyed in the game demonstrate how the individual not only carries out representative actions in the game, but also actually becomes capable of acting in the concrete social reality.
