The course covers the essential legal matters that are relevant to architects and provides with practical tools and guidance to mitigate and avoid legal problems.  The main focus of the course are the applicable laws on contracts for work and services that (also) apply to architects, the provisions governing the legal fees and the profession of architects, tort law, the respective liability issues (in particular arising insurance law issues) and selected copyright law matters - especially by Ausrian Law but also in international context.

For formally and successfully completing the semester it is mandatory to be active throughout the semester (attendance and participation in meetings). Students will have to do short presentations of a law case or have to prepare a specific legal topic for the next lecture.

The lecture will be online via zoom; detailed information and specifications will follow via mail or during our meetings.
