In this course, we will read in full length and discuss in depth Timoty Morton's Hyperobjects (Minnesota UP 2013), which is a key work for making critical sense of and engaging with large-scale, entangles phenomena like the current climate crisis. You will be asked to prepare (i.e., read carefully) assigned chapters at home, so that we can work with them in the plenary sessions. Together, we will develop reading strategies for effectively processing a complex primary text, while at the same time learning about its content and meaning. Classroom language (reading, discussion, presentations, papers) is English. 

Attendance is mandatory. Grades will be calculated according to: preparation of assigned reading, participation in class, one presentation, and a final exam.

Please note that there is priority registration for CDS students. Students from other faculties or universities will be registered if we find a big enough room to accommodate the class.
