2019S, Lecture and Discussion (VOD), 3.0 semester hours, course number S02630

Description

This course will deal with the complex mechanisms that link cognitive processes to behavioural outcomes. The two main foci will be social behaviour and environmental psychology. We will discuss the evolutionary basis, the developmental manifestation and the modulation through external and internal factors. We will aim to identify global patterns as well as cultural and individual differences. Based on the theoretical understanding we will try to develop methods to reduce ambiguities in cross-cultural communication

Examination Modalities

There will be practical exercises throughout the course plus a final oral examination. Both, the practical exercises, as well as the oral examination need to be evaluated positively for a positive evaluation of the participation. Due to the highly interactive nature of the class, presence is mandatory.

Comments

Literature will be provided throughout the term.
