Mapping – urban space
Possibilities of mapping - in the mix of analogue and digital formats – using the example of urban space. The design of teaching and learning scenarios is characterized by different approaches in the mapping (artistic cartography, wikis, geomedia, open data etc.)
Changing perception of urban space and the appropriation of space change due to the overlapping of real and virtual space (location-based storytelling, augmented reality, gamification)? The topic offers numerous possibilities to introduce own artistic-scientific approaches, as well as the life worlds of children and adolescents in the school and / or out of school context (informal learning process).
Practical examples (artistic, sociocultural, school projects), questions of artistic research, methods of other fields of research and didactic approaches are treated. Mapping means in a broad sense cartographic recording practices that are "subjectively" shaped, or aesthetic practices where spaces and perceptions are cartographically transferred.

1. Overview of current discourses, research questions and information material/tool boxes
2. Overview of methodological possibilities of dealing with topics / approaches in class or other mediation situations (process-oriented, experimental, interdisciplinary, aspects of heterogeneity and diversity)
3. Development of concrete applications
An important component is research and critical analysis of online materials (theoretical discourses, teaching concepts) with a view to practice.

Examination Modalities

  • Attendance and discourse readiness

  • Development, discussion and presentation of a main topic
    (Subject-specific questions, teaching concept, teaching strategy)

  • Writing PS thesis according to the scientific requirements of the Angewandte ( requirements are announced in the 1.LV)
