Description

Anatomy of Garments:

Garments are an interplay of textiles, patterns, seams, closures, drapings, pleats, to wear out or to hold in, as well as to stiffen or construct paddings. In fashion, those aspects and techniques are related to the human body and creat the so-called second skin.

Main purpose of the course is to investigate the technical and functional aspects and develop new references to the body and/or environment

The course starts with an interactive lecture about sewing technologies and textiles.

We proceed to manufacture under instruction a typical T-shirt

Out of these process each student focuses on one detail with methodes of art and design

Examination Modalities

attendence 80%
arrival on time to the lecture
notice of absence - at least one day in advance

development a concept and project-plan according to a choosen topic till 20.11.

A written and photographic documentation of the work process.

Comments

It is recommended to combine the course with the one of Barabra Graf (Anatomie/Kleidung). contents are coordinated.
