This course aims at providing students with the skills necessary to write articulate and aware fashion texts. Through insight into the fashion world and media, students will learn to grasp the different styles of fashion writing and they will have ample opportunity to practice writing and critical thinking. Using trend reports, reviews of collections and media analyses, students will learn how to approach fashion texts from different angles.

Students will work on writing texts for a fashion magazine published for the Modeklasse of Angewandte, their writing will be reviewed and published in an internationally distributed magazine in May 2019.

To receive full attendance credit you are expected to:

• Attend every meeting and to attend the entire session
• You are allowed to miss 1 lecture but must excuse your absence in advance via e-mail

• Participate in group discussions and class assignments
• Hand in a text (garment or collection description) at the end of the term (submission date: TBA)
