Beschreibung

Based on an intensive research about space, shape, structure and pattern students have to reinterpret various architectural typologies by means of digital and physical fabrication methods. The corner points of their analysis are used as border parameters for the ongoing design process. The aim is to develop new concepts for an intuitive digital design process.

This course "2" is building upon the knowledge learned through the preceding course "1". Successful participation of "Techniques and Tools for Digital Production 1" is therefore mandatory, except the student can prove adequate previously acquired knowledge from her/his Bachelor-Studies or another study-program.

Each student is required to define a topic of their own interest including manual and digital tooling in the production of it.
An individual proposal in form of one DinA 4 sheet explaining the task, process, workload and expected end-result (e.g. "lamp-shade", "fruit-bowl", "folding-chair",...) in images and text has to be brought to the first meeting and is either agreed on or then modified together.
Group work is also encouraged, but not necessary, to extend the possibilities of the available workload in relation to the ECTS points.

Prüfungsmodalitäten

The semester will be divided into individual reviews accompaning the individual needs of each proposal.
The end result has to be presented and a documentation of the whole process in form of a digital PDF has to be handed in.

Anmerkungen

Sign up VIA email including the proposal on one DinA4 sheet as a pdf file PRIOR to the first meeting is mandatory!
