Based on the book “General Ecology”, edited by German philosopher and cultural theorist Erich Hörl, we will be exploring several strands of research in the humanities and social sciences, including cybernetics, phenomenology, systems theory, process philosophy and discourses on the Anthropocene. In variant and hopefully mind-expanding ways, we will be tracking the explosion of environmental agencies in today´s global `technosphere´ and aim at tracing the connections between the general discourse and its implications for contemporary artistic practice.
