Description

Thematically, the course covers planar, but mostly spatial geometry. Questions like the following are explained through a series of practical and contemporary examples. * Which types of projections exist, and what are their defining characteristics? * What are polyhedrons, and what special types of polyhedrons are there? * What are the simplest types of surfaces, and which of them can be developed (or spread out into the plane)? * Which surfaces possess special practical qualities, in addition to their interesting geometrical characteristics? * How does perspective imaging work? * How might one grasp the geometry of motion?

Examination Modalities

Der Leistungsnachweis basiert auf zwei schriftlichen und zwei mündlichen Tests (jeweils am Ende eines Semesters). Abgeprüft werden die Lehrinhalte (siehe dazu www.uni-ak.ac.at/geom/geom), aber auch die Fähigkeit, korrekte und ansprechende Freihandzeichnungen anzufertigen.

Comments

Voraussetzung zum Erhalt eines positiven Zeugnisses ist der Nachweis, dass ein geometrischer Einführungskurs (z.B. "Einführung in die Darstellende Geometrie" bzw. 2 Jahre DG an einer AHS oder BHS) nachgewiesen wird.
