Title: Processing Fakes

On the basis of Art examples and renowned fakes, underlying codes and characteristic features that represent a work will be analyzed and reproduced to understand processes of deception.

• When is a copy a copy and not a fake?
• Ideals, role models and mimicry as processes of identification.
• Difference between fiction, fakes, pranks, forgery, a hoax, appropriation, multiples, imitation, simulation, plagiarism

Emphasis in the seminar lies in the understanding and production of a fake.
