die lehrveranstaltung hat das jahresthema der abteilung für digitale kunst — BIG DATA — aus der sicht der künstlerischen forschung zum inhalt. wir werden uns dazu an den schnittstellen folgender bereiche bewegen: 

KUNST & FORSCHUNG: unterschiede und schnittstellen von kunst und wissenschaft; 'was heisst künstlerische forschung?' am beispiel einer kleinen empirischen untersuchung als methodische praxis

BIG DATA: ästhetik der 'grossen daten'

MEDIENARCHÄOLOGIE: 'window display vs. digital media' (schaufensterprojekt in kooperation mit der papier- und buchhandlung der TU wien)

the course will deal with the digital art department's current annual topic — BIG DATA — from the view point of artistic research. therefore we will move on the interfaces of the following fields:

ART & RESEARCH: differences and interfaces of art and science; 'what does artistic research mean?' with the example of a small empiristic study as methodic practice

BIG DATA: aesthetics of 'big data'

MEDIA ARCHAEOLOGY: 'window display vs. digital media' (window project in cooperation with the stationary shop and the bookstore of the vienna university of technology)
